Cathedral Rock Reflecting in the Waters of Red Rock Crossing. |
One of the best thing that I love Sedona is the Red Rock Crossing. The attractions of this particular site is hiking, swimming, picnicking, Sight Seeing, Photography and Fishing. If you feel like you want to just relax and get wet and wild with family or kids this is the best place to go. If you don't know how to get there, you can get the map from the visitor's center South of Sedona on Hi-way 179. From there you can purchase your pass for only $8/per car.
Going to Sedona, Arizona is the thing I love to do the most and I never ever get tired of it. It is only 3 hours drive from East Valley of Phoenix. If you want to go to Sedona, Arizona during holiday season, you need to book your hotel in advance. Otherwise, you will find your self checking in somewhere 20 miles away or so from Sedona, Arizona. This was our lesson learned from last time. We really didn't think that July 4th would be so busy. So we got there and found out all of the hotels room were packed and 'NO VACANCY' sign was all over the town.
If you love to visit any tourist attraction sites but hate the crowd, the best time to go to Sedona, Arizona is during weekdays. Plus, not only you will enjoy the serene of the place but also it will not hurt your wallet when it comes to checking in to hotels. You can actually get a room at main drag of downtown Sedona, Arizona for a very reasonable rates from a very high class hotels with free continental breakfast. The thing about us, we can never enjoy the continental breakfast at all because most of the hotels serve breakfast from 6am to 10a. We can never make it because we don't get up till almost noon plus we don't like eating right away anyway soon as we get up. Coffee is the only breakfast we need.
Hubby in front of Fremont Cottonwood Tree at Red Rock Crossing |
When you hike through Red Rock Crossing, you will never miss this gigantic Fremont Cottonwood Tree. At the time of our visits, the temperature reached at 3 digits. I can never recall the exact number but it was so hot that being under this huge fremont cottonwood tree for a minute or two was very refreshing.
When we got closer to the lake of Red Rock Crossing, there are tons of Sycamore Tree. So really, even if it was 3 digits temperature that day, we didn't walked under the sun because there are many Sycamore tree around the trail. As you can see above, I was playing and climbing on one of the Sycamore Tree at Red Rock Crossing. We have got to play like a kid sometime to enjoy life, right?
This is the most stunning view of the Red Rock Crossing in Sedona to be hold. We were lucky to be getting this shot without the crowd. I guess because it was too hot so only few people were there. Plus it was during weekdays.
Hubby and I posed while coming back from Red Rock Crossing Trail. If you want to go to Sedona, Arizona put Red Rock Crossing as one of your 'Things to do while in Sedona'. This place is beautiful and breaktaking.
